Jonnycon II will be held on Saturday 23rd February 2020 at Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club in my new, adopted home town of Littleborough, to launch my third novel, the Sleeping Dragon. The party will be from 7pm to around 11pm. Entry is free, but if you’re able to let me know ahead of time that you’re coming that would be good.
As always, this is a book launch party in the style of an SF/F convention. Food (nibbles) will be provided, and I’m also hoping to get some board games in.
Accessibility / Dietary Requirements
The venue (the clubhouse of the rowing club) has step-free access to the clubroom and bar, and has an accessible toilet.
The food provided will be vegan. If you have any other dietary requirements (such as gluten-free) please let us know.
Location
The Rowing Club is located on the shores of Hollingworth Lake1, which is a little to the north-east of Manchester, with easy access from the M62. The post code is OL15 0DQ.
Parking is available immediately adjacent to the venue. The nearest railway station is Smithy Bridge (around ten minutes walk), which can be reached by train from Manchester Victoria and Leeds railway stations.
Accommodation / Food
There are several eateries immediately opposite the Rowing club. Accommodation can be found at:
1If you watch Cold Feet, Hollingworth Lake was the place Pete took his old ladies to on a day trip. Alas, the rickshaws that they ended up hiring don’t actually exist. But you can take.a very nice walk or jog along the footpath that goes around the lake, and there’s a nice cafe on the opposite side of the lake, around the halfway point.
